Wayne Bailey

Biography as it appears in the BEAUTY and the BEAST playbill (spring 2018):

WAYNE BAILEY (Maurice) knew theater was for him when he saw his first show in Boston, Ben Franklin in Paris, in the early 1960s. From there he went on to win the Boston Globe drama festival award for best actor in a drama. Wayne is a graduate of Leland Powers School of Theater in Boston. Wayne did four years of summer stock in Boston and Cambridge and some of his favorite shows were:  A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Camelot, The Boy Friend, Once Upon A Mattress, J.B., The Crucible, Night of the Iguana and Twelfth Night. He also worked for WHDH TV and Radio in Boston. While at WAGM in northern Maine, Wayne did on-air radio news and sports, and was their 6pm week-night TV news and sports anchor. He also hosted a weekly TV show for the station. Wayne performed in the Play By Players’ 1996 production of The Foreigner. Most recently, with ACTORS inc, he was Juror #10 in Twelve Angry Men, Arnold Meddle in Sandbag, Stage Left, Simon Stimson in Our Town, Ali Hakim in Oklahoma!,  voice of the radio DJ in Steel Magnolias and the Radio Announcer in Bingo! The Winning Musical.  Wayne is looking forward to performing with this talented cast of Beauty and the Beast.
